What
is yoga?
Although,
yoga has a Hindu influence it is actually the union of the higher
and lower self, which is taught in most religions. Hinduism is
the oldest religion on Earth and created the trinity now used in
Christianity and other faiths. In Hinduism we have Braham, Shiva and Vishnu three
qualities of God. In Christianity we have the Father, Son and Holy
Ghost the same three aspects of God.
When we hear the word yoga,
in the west, we most often think of a
physical practice of postures and breathing. However, there is another form of yoga and it is called off
the mat yoga, Raja, Karma and Bhakti yoga. This is
the foundation of yoga. The original form of yoga was created by
Lord Muruga (Sanatkumara) and presumably given to the
Patanjali. This great philosopher and physician created what we
now call the Yoga Sutras.
In the guided
meditation,
Purify The Body Temple, Paula,
offers us the opportunity to heal our personal limitation and
transform. Using the chakras (energy centers
of the body), as emotional locators, to guide and address
our imbalances and we gain greater insight to our limitation and
easily change it.
When this is done, the mind calms
any mental chatter,
and we stay more calm and focused on our Divine Self. The
method used in Purify, is yoga. When we free ‘stuck’ emotional energy the body/mind
expands and it is easier for us to be in life and be full of joy
and inner love.
